Although we do our very best to ensure this website is up-to-date & accurate, we make no warranties – explicit or implied. This pertains to completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability, or availability with regard to the website, information, products, services, or related graphics. All reliance you place on such information is at your own risk. Please, do enquire if you have any questions or concerns related to the information stipulated on our website.
All weights and sizes approximate & are as close as can be. In no event will we be liable for irregular forms since these products do not allow for exact measurements. Our images & samples are used to demonstrate the general style and quality of the products, but the end product will ultimately differ to some degree.
Furthermore, Ivan Aleksander will not accept responsibility for any loss or damage including, & without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage; loss or damage arising from loss of data or profits from, or in connection with the use of this website.

Please understand that all our products are handmade, and even though we make every effort to create only the best quality finished products, natural marks and imperfections are what make each piece unique, captivating and rich in stunning details. Reclaimed and salvaged wood dimensions will not necessarily be as exact as using brand new timber, therefore the dimensions stated on the finished product can vary slightly.
Colours and textures differ from tree to tree. Although we offer several products of the same style, each will be slightly different from the next. Any item you purchase is one of a kind. We can’t make an exact replica of something as each item is going to be unique given the nature of the type of wood used and the handmade/crafting process which does not allow for a perfect factory finish. Our items are produced at our artisan home-workshop and the process is genuine and full of dedication and care.
Ivan Aleksander is not responsible for the description, materials used or quality of any items from the Craft Fair, crafted by other artisans – whether purchased as ready to ship or bespoke/custom made.
Any products created by our artisans are non-refundable and non-returnable. Due to their one-of-a kind nature, it is not possible to cancel a purchase for products created by one of our artisans. We encourage careful consideration before purchasing to ensure your complete satisfaction with the final product.
These items are not covered by the standard one-year warranty that applies to our regular Bespoke service. While we strive for quality, and work closely with artisans to meet your specifications, variations may occur due to their handmade nature.
All communication between the customer and the artisan is handled by Ivan Aleksander. Directly approaching the Artisan strictly goes against our policies and is discouraged at all times. We will act as facilitator for all issues and any complaints should they arise.
Nature does not repeat itself, meaning no two pieces are ever identical. All weights & sizes approximate & are as close as can be. In no event will we be liable for irregular forms since these products do not allow for exact measurements.
All timber can sometimes crack, scratch or discolour even though we have added a protective coating.
Wood is a living material and as such, it moves. It will expand and contract due to variations in humidity, light, and temperature in the surrounding environment of your home. This may cause fissures in the wood, which is completely natural – only adding character & individuality to each item. Our products have been designed for durability and longevity so that these changes are minimised but they cannot be prevented.
We specialise in reclaimed natural products. This timber may contain certain aged characteristics that include, but are not limited to: colour variation, nails/nail holes, saw marks, dents, kinks/scratches, insect holes, staining, tapering, wane, etc.
Since reclaimed wood has been used before in various environments, it is possible there could have been some decay or wood infestations. All timber that enters our workshop & is listed for sale is treated for wood worms & insects alike. We explicitly guarantee that there is nothing in our wood when it leaves our property, however, we do not guarantee that they won’t come back, therefore we cannot be held responsible at a later stage. We endeavour to ensure that our timber products are of suitably high quality, but it is impossible to eliminate all the risks associated with using reclaimed wood.
The colours of our products as shown in the pictures are for guidance only. The actual colours may vary due to monitor and browser settings, digital photography, and finish variations. We are very careful to ensure our photos are as accurate as possible, but please understand the actual colour may vary slightly from your screen.
In most cases, we use tough water-based eggshell-type paint on our products. These paints may be water, solvent or oil based depending on the requirements and availability of materials. Most painted products are further sanded to give a distressed look. Over time the colour may fade further enhancing this look.
Where metal products are finished by spray and brush, they will contain signs of this manual process, including brush marks and other blemishes. Whether sprayed, painted or powder coated for extra durability, we can offer no guarantees for the longevity of the paint work.
All our lamps are handmade and unique, we take full responsibility for the condition of the wood and other materials used. We always test any electrical lighting before purchase and once the product into which it is incorporated, is ready. With these types of products, and the fact that every item is totally unique, it is not possible to have them electrically tested and certified by an independent party.
We are competent and experienced in working with electrical components, and the end product is quality assured. But unfortunately, we cannot accept any responsibility for the manufactured electrical components. It is the customer who is responsible for deciding whether something is safe to use. Likewise, it is the customer’s responsibility to use the item in a safe manner in a safe place.
When an item has to be wired into the mains electricity (not simply plugged in), it is recommended that the installation is done by a qualified electrician.
The customer is responsible for the replacement of any bulbs and light fittings.
To protect the individuality of our items, we limit the number of replicas per creation. If you come across an ‘Out of Stock’ item on our website & would like it to be remade, we’ll be happy to do so. Although we cannot make an exact replica of this product due to differences in colour, knots, character, etc. We can recreate this style at the same price as advertised.
This will be considered a custom bespoke piece, and a refund or return will not be possible.
Please allow a longer delivery time than already made products since it has to be crafted afresh.
We welcome work which may include bespoke or unique design or sizing from our ‘standard sizing’. Colours & textures may vary, we can’t do an exact replica of something you send us a photo of as each piece is going to be unique given the nature of the type of wood used. Please be aware that such commissions are made on the agreement that they cannot be refunded, exchanged or cancelled. The handmade/crafting aspect does not allow for perfect factory finish.
A deposit of 50% or the full price of the item will be chargeable upon accepting an order and is non-refundable.
Many bespoke pieces are covered by a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty. If fault is found you are entitled to a replacement or refund. This does not cover natural changes in the timber.
This will be considered a custom piece, and a refund or return will not be possible.
