All wooden surfaces should be treated with love and care.

The amount of care needed will depend on your personal requirements and the environment in which you live in as well as where your item is placed.

Minimal Cleaning

Clean the surfaces with a dry or slightly moistened cloth. The cloth should not be wet. If there is any excess moisture, wipe it off with a dry cloth immediately.

CAUTION When Cleaning!

Do not use furniture polish.

Cleaning agents and kitchen sprays are not necessary for everyday use.

Abrasive scrubbing will damage the surface.

Do not submerge in water or under a running tap.

Use And Care

Do not place any sharp, hot or damp objects on the surfaces.

Spilled liquids should be removed quickly, before moisture can penetrate into the wood.

Do not use in the microwave.

Do not use in the oven.

Do not use in the dishwasher.

Always use place mats and coasters to protect the surface.

We do not recommend leaving wooden products outdoors exposed to rain and snow.

Deep Cleaning

When it comes time for deep cleaning your chopping or serving board, rub lemon juice over the product, let it sit for one minute or two, then rinse it in warm water. For seasoning, gently apply vegetable oil (e.g. olive oil) over the whole item. Periodically wash with a gentle detergent & a soft bristle brush to remove dirt or food residue then allow to air dry. Do not pressure wash.

Varnished Products

Indoors – Clean surfaces with a dry or damp cloth. The cloth must not be wet. Ensure not to leave any water behind. Cleaning agents are not necessary for everyday use. We apply two coats of waterproof varnish on our products. It should not need re-application for 7 years or more.

Outdoors – If your product is placed in a covered outdoors area on a terrace/ balcony/ veranda, you can re-varnish every 18 months if required. Use a clear a waterproof outdoor varnish.

We do not recommend leaving wooden products outdoors exposed to rain and snow.

Linseed & Beeswax Finish

Furniture in drier climates may have to be oiled more than furniture in more humid climates.

Indoors – For general cleaning purposes, wipe surfaces with a dry microfiber cloth.

If the wood is dry to the touch, we recommend reapplying linseed or beeswax every 3 months.

Outdoors – If your product is placed outdoors in a covered outdoor area on a terrace/ balcony/ veranda, we recommend reapplying linseed and/or beeswax every 3 years if required. Take care not to leave it out exposed to rain and snow.
